The
5th Seoul International Competition for Composers
March, 2009
Seoul International Competition for Composers is a composition competition held
by The Korean Society of the 21st Century Music. The purpose of this competition
is to provide an opportunity of musical exchange for composers from all over the
world. This will be an introduction of unique and progressive music composed by
active international composers. The society also hosts colloquium, which
presents composition workshops of the finalists. This competition will be an
opportunity for the audience to heighten their interest and understanding of
contemporary music

MUSIC FOR THREE TO FIVE PLAYERS
¡¡Competing compositions are to be written
for the any combination
of the following instruments. Doubling of same
instruments is not acceptable::

Open
to all composers regardless of any age, nationality, race
and sex.

Composition
Specification;
A) Works composed after April 1, 2007 are eligible for submission
B)
Works should not be published, commissioned, or awarded..
C) It is
prohibited to summit works to other competition.
D) Only one submission per
composer can be accepted E) The society will hold the copyright of the winning
pieces, for two years.

Submission Requirements
A) Application form (obtain more info. from the web;

B) A recent photo of the composer
C) Short
biography of the composer in English. (approximately 200 words.)
D) 3
copies of the score (Please do not write the name of composer)
E) A
recording of the work (if available cassette tape or CD)
F) Program notes of
the submitted work in English (approximately 200 words.)

JURY PROCEDURE |

After 2 preliminary screening (end of the Octoberber), the winner
will be selected by performance at final
¡á Juries for this competition are highly acclaimed international
composers..
¡á The winning composition will be performed at the festival
MUSIC TODAY, SEOUL 2009.
