Concerts
Since
1969, the Music Society annually has been hosting two
concerts presenting the members¡¯ latest compositions.
The concerts and assembles with various and interesting
organizations of instruments have been tried. In addition,
the Society has cooperated the elements of Korean traditional
music styles with the contemporary music. The concert
series occasionally held with special themes such as
'music for strings', 'music for percussions', 'Asian
songs', etc. The Society is proud of having provided
the opportunities for many highly acclaimed musicians
to give world premiers.
¡®Concert
in Concert¡¯ ? special project concert
The
Society begins a new project for the experiment with
new musical venues of fusing the contemporary music
with visual arts and multi-media performance. A new
concert series is planned. The main theme of the concert
series will be 'the encounter with the various arts'.
The series will explore new horizons of musical experience
within the domains of performing arts, visual arts,
and multi-media performance.
MUSIC
TODAY, SEOUL
Music
Today is an international music festival for Korean
and international composers. It aims to draw consensus
from the composers around the world for the creation
of new music and to offer the composers to sharing and
leading contemporary ideas.
The
Seoul International Competition for Composers
The
Society holds the Seoul International Competition for
Composers. The purpose of this competition is to provide
an opportunity of musical exchanges for composers of
various ages from all over the world. It is hoped by
the society, during the colloquium, which will include
composition workshops of the finalists, that there will
be an opportunity for the audience to heighten their
interest and understanding of contemporary music. Those

Publishing
CDs and Score
The
Music Society runs an annual project of publishing and
recording the member's recent compositions. The selections
are made among submissions.

Running
Website and Webzine
The
Society is planning to reform the web site through this
year for various, useful, and professional information.
And the webmagazine 'insidemusic'
is also considered to provide contemporary composers
